Avocados taste great and are packed with healthy fats and vitamins. But it can be a challenge to split an avocado at exactly the right time. Usually, the avocados sold in grocery stores are unripe or overripe.
Avocado stocking is a natural way to speed up ripening and protect the avocado from bumps. By finding the right time to eat the avocado, food waste is reduced.
Place an unripe avocado in the sock. Within 24 to 48 hours, you will have a perfectly ripe avocado. The natural lanolin in the sock and the heat it gives off will cause the avocado to ripen gradually.
