You use it like a regular coffee filter in your brewer, but over and over again! When the coffee is ready, let the filter dry in its place in the brewer, when it is dry, empty the filter into the compost or garbage, rinse it off and hang it to dry until the next brew. When the filter has done its job, you can advantageously put it on the compost!
Care instructions:
Boil the filter before first use and then as needed to remove coffee residue and grease. It is also safe to wash at 60 degrees.
We have discovered that different types of coffee contain different amounts of oil and thus affect the coffee filter in different ways. This also means that boiling the filter without any of the agents we previously recommended is not always enough.
To avoid clogging the coffee filter, we therefore recommend that you wash or boil your coffee filter once or twice a week with detergent or dishwashing liquid to remove the oil from the coffee. An old housewife's trick is also to soak the filter in baking soda and vinegar overnight if necessary.
