Scented candles

In Snälla Saker's store you will find tea lights made from rapeseed and/or soy.

Soy wax is a natural wax made from the oil of soybeans. Soy wax candles are environmentally friendly as the oil is a renewable crop. Other advantages of these candles are that they burn with a clean, clear flame and do not soot. They also burn longer than traditional candles.

In Sweden, we use 18,000 tons of candles per year. Most of them are made of paraffin, which contributes to the greenhouse effect when they burn.

Stearin is produced by hydrolysis of animal fat, but can also be produced from vegetable fat, such as palm oil. Stearin melts at 65 °C.
