Cornflower, tagetes, marigold - flowers loved by beneficial insects
Sometimes it can be difficult to distinguish which insects are beneficial and which are necessary. The animals you are welcome to welcome into your garden or balcony are bumblebees, butterflies, ladybugs, dragonflies, beetles, lacewings, flies and bees.
These animals eat pests that we don't welcome, such as aphids and fleas.
Plant the seeds in this bag next to fruit and vegetable crops. They will provide shelter and food for pollinators and insects that fight pests.
Feel free to mix the seeds with sand to make them easier to sow.
Sow during April - Nov. In the spring if you want early flowering and later if you want flowering next year.
Spread the seeds evenly, press into the soil and keep the seedbed moist after sowing. Mop down after flowering. Let the clippings seed and then remove them.
The bag contains 16 annuals and 9 perennials, including cornflowers, tagetes and marigolds.
